I am familiar with Tuqa Al-Sarraj in my capacity as a teacher/sensor at the International Art Academy – Palestine, where Tuqa studied 2013-16. During this time, Tuqa stood out as highly motivated and engaged, always inquisitive, and with an eye for less obvious lines of thought. While Tuqa brings a strong personal perspective to her work, she approaches art as a vehicle for exploring both her place in the world and artistic convention. In addition to a keen visual sensibility, Tuqa is technically adept with a wide range of artistic skills. Regarding Tuqa’s contribution to the learning environment, she worked well in groups and participated both actively and frankly in discussions.
